MMDS LINK 2.3 - 2.7 GHz
Microwave Multipoint Distribution System
The MMDS system is an alternative TV channel transmission system, compared to the Cable TV
or the normal UHF transmission where it is overloaded.
The MMDS is also suitable for the transmission point-to-point of TV channels and may also
be used for Pay TV. The number of channels that may be transmitted varies from 1 to 12, in
simultaneous or separate amplification.
This transmission system is used for distances not greater than 20 Km. The best
utilization is for valleys, cities or villages.
The MMDS may be used both for converting the UHF signals from 662 - 862 MHz to 2,5 - 2,7
GHz, and for direct modulation with audio-video input, using the television converter
SCAV/100 which has the UHF channel output and is provided with linearity pre-corrector to
obtain the minimum intermodulation during the transmission.
